Partner ITM is helping, too
ITM Group, the company’s partner in the Holistica joint venture that is developing the Grand Lucayan resort in Freeport, is donating an additional $100,000.
Royal Caribbean said the Bahamas are more than a destination.
500 Bahamian employees and half a century of ties
'For more than half a century, we’ve made many friends and many memories. The Bahamas [are] also home to more than 500 of our colleagues who work at Perfect Day at CocoCay and the Grand Bahama Shipyard.’
Royal Caribbean is collaborating with the Bahamian government and the company’s nonprofit partner, the Pan American Development Foundation, and a network of Bahamian charities and other local organizations, including the Bahamas Feeding Network.
Ships to transport supplies
All kinds of goods are being loaded onto the company’s ships — generators, water, cleaning supplies, clean sheets, towels and more — for direct delivery to the Bahamas. The trained employee volunteers on Royal Caribbean’s GO Team are on their way to assist with relief efforts. And the company said it’s taking special care of coworkers and their families affected by the storm.
Matching donations
Royal Caribbean also will match every dollar of passenger and employee donations to the Pan American Development Foundation.
