Royal Caribbean International touts The Ultimate Abyss as the tallest slide at sea. It towers more than 150 feet above sea level overlooking the AquaTheater on Harmony of the Seas.

'It's very threatening. It's not a water slide; it's something completely different,' said RCI's Alison Frazier, director, entertainment and guest activities.

The pair of side-by-side slides will plunge riders into a 100 foot drop that twists and turns in a serpentine-like movement as they zip along about nine miles per hour from the Pool and Sports Zone on Deck 16 to the Boardwalk on Deck 6.

Launching onto the ride from a glass platform, riders can take one last look at the Boardwalk 10 decks below before climbing onto a customized mat and taking the plunge. Spontaneous audio effects within each tunnel create a multi-sensory thrill while riders traverse the 216 feet through the slides.

The Ultimate Abyss consists of two separate cylinders, each with a diameter of approximately 2.6 feet and constructed of stainless steel.
