On the eve of Seatrade Cruise Global, Holland America Line announced its next Pinnacle-class ship will be named Ryndam during a media visit to Nieuw Statendam, berthed in Port Everglades.

The newbuild, due for delivery by Fincantieri's Marghera yard in May 2021, will be the fourth ship in the company’s history to carry the name.

Similar to sister ships Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam, at 99,500gt with 2,666-passenger capacity, as the third in the Pinnacle series Ryndam will feature enhanced amenities and innovations.

Entertainment highlights on Ryndam include new performance act Step One Dance Company, currently only performing in Pinnacle class ships Kongingsdam and Nieuw Statendam. Media were treated to a performance on Nieuw Statendam today.

‘We are aiming to appeal to a younger generation of cruise ship passengers,' HAL president Orlando Ashford said.

Ryndam is the 17th ship constructed for Holland America Line by the Italian shipbuilder, which most recently delivered Nieuw Statendam.
