High-profile sales veteran Marilyn Conroy signed on with Riviera River Cruises as VP sales and marketing for North America. Conroy will oversee a team of regional sales directors from an office in Fairfield Connecticut, for the United Kingdom’s largest European river cruise operator.

EVP at David Morris International

Six months ago, Riviera River Cruises retained David Morris International, where Conroy is EVP, to assist with growth in North America. Because of the very positive response to the product by the travel agent community, Conroy has taken on sales and marketing for Riviera on a full-time basis.

Conroy brings a 'wealth of expertise in the cruise industry and a proven record for growth, and we look forward to her leadership in our sales efforts,' said Jana Tvedt, EVP, Riviera River Cruises.

The line fields 12 vessels, having launched six in 2017 and 2018, with George Eliot and William Wordsworth scheduled for 2019 introduction.

'Riviera excels at offering great value for an exceptional product and in working with the travel agent community, and we’ll be building on that reputation,' Conroy said.

Past roles with Silversea, Crystal, Cunard

Born in the UK, Conroy brings more than four decades of experience in cruise line sales and marketing, including SVP sales at Silversea, VP sales at Crystal Cruises and VP sales at Cunard Line, where she spent 20 years. There she started in the hotel division and later joined the shipping division which, at the time, had 17 vessels including Queen Elizabeth 2.

Eight years ago, Conroy and her business partner David Morris formed David Morris International, assisting niche cruise lines in launching their products in the North American market.
