Scanship has been awarded a retrofit contract by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to deliver and install an advanced wastewater purification system on Oceania Cruises' Insignia.

The system will process all gray wastewater sources and black water to the industry's highest environmental standard for special area Baltic Sea including phosphorus and nitrogen removal.

The installation is to be carried out this fall.

It is Scanship's 13th contract for wastewater retrofitting for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and the second for Oceania Cruises.

'We are thrilled to continue delivering systems to Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and supporting their commitment to cleaner oceans and sustainable seafaring,' Scanship CEO Henrik Badin said.
