Glen Moroney was not prepared to compromise the quality of Scenic Eclipse to meet construction deadlines
Glen Moroney, founder and chairman of Australia’s Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, announced today that the launch of Scenic Eclipse has been delayed until late January 2019.

The 17,085gt cruise vessel is being built in Croatia's Uljanik shipyard in Pula.

Moroney said plans to begin services of 'the world’s first discovery yacht’ at the end of next month have been impacted by construction issues at the shipyard.

‘Despite the best efforts of our Scenic Eclipse build supervision team to make up construction time, we are not prepared to compromise the quality of the vessel and potentially impact guest experiences to meet the original schedule,’ he said.

He said Scenic will provide full refunds for the cost of cancelled cruises and ‘any other reasonable associated costs incurred with travel plans.’

He also said Scenic will provide a future cruise credit up to the value of 25% of the cost of a rebooked cruise.

Scenic has a second 'discovery yacht' scheduled for delivery in May 2020,
