Silversea 'Grand Expeditions' meld land and sea, with 20% savings

Starting in October, Silversea Cruises' 'Grand Expeditions' range from 18 to 34 days and begin with an expedition cruise in the Galapágos Islands before connecting with a land adventure then continuing with an expedition cruise along the coast of Central America, South America or Antarctica.

The all-inclusive Grand Expeditions package incorporates cruise fares for Silver Galapagos and Silver Explorer at 20% off the individual published rate. Also in the package are hotel accommodations, land tours, return air travel between Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, intra-tour air travel and ground transportation, as well as charter flights to Ushuaia, if applicable.

'Latin American Delights,' for example, is an 18-day package starting Oct. 1. Silver Galapagos will explore the western Galápagos then, after a post-cruise overnight stay in Guayaquil, participants fly to Panama to embark Silver Explorer for a cruise from Colón to Guayaquil.

'South American Sojourn,' 25 days and starting Oct. 8, bundles a Silver Galapagos north central itinerary with a two-night, post-cruise stay in Guayaquil and an afternoon city tour before embarking Silver Explorer. The ocean cruise sails from Guayaquil to Chile's Valparaíso.

Plus, three other Grand Expeditions programs are offered, of 23 days, 34 days and 26 days, with such elements as an overnight in Santiago, Chile, with a wine tour, cruising Chile's lake district, tours to Machu Picchu and Iguazu Falls, and Antarctica cruising.
