The ship was put through a series of maneuvers to test its propulsion, steering and navigational equipment.

Oct. 20 maiden voyage

Further exterior and interior finishing are ongoing to prepare for the maiden Oct. 20 seven-day Mediterranean and Adriatic cruise from Piraeus to Barcelona.

Sky Princess will sail a series of Mediterranean voyages before debuting in North America on Dec. 1 for a season of Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale.

New features

The 3,660-passenger, 143,700gt ship follows sisters Majestic Princess, Regal Princess and Royal Princess. New features include Sky Suites with expansive views from the largest balconies at sea. a Phantom Bridge escape room game combining digital and physical elements and Take 5, a jazz theater highlighting the sounds, culture and history of jazz.

Sky Princess also continues the Princess MedallionClass experience via the OceanMedallion wearable device that speeds embarkation, opens stateroom doors and helps the crew deliver more personalized service.

The Princess fleet will further expand with Enchanted Princess in June 2020, and three additional ships arriving in 2021, 2023 and 2025. Those next-generation vessels will measure 175,000gt and be powered by LNG.
