SMS International Shore Operations expanded its port agency division in the US by adding two senior leaders and assuming the business of Land and Sea Transport, with its clients’ prior permission.

Jorge Cosculluela and Robert Cosculluela of Land and Sea joined the SMS team in key roles.

‘With this move and the addition of our two new port agency leaders, we envisage a seamless transition for existing clients of both companies and a wealth of exciting new opportunities to better serve [their] needs on a nationwide and global basis well into the future,’ said Samuel Mifsud, president of SMS International Shore Operations US.

Jorge Cosculluela to lead port agency nationwide

Jorge Cosculluela was named a VP of port agency. He brings more than 30 years of experience in port agency and cruise industry renown as president and CEO of Land and Sea Transport.

Joanne Bowen, senior director of East Coast port agency, and Christopher Harris, senior director of West Coast port agency, will report directly to Cosculluela.

‘We are truly very proud to have JC on board, leading our port agency team nationwide,’ Mifsud said. Cosculluela will be based in the SMS headquarters in Miami and report directly to Christopher Blanchard, EVP of worldwide operations.

Another cruise industry veteran, Robert Cosculluela, signed on with SMS as director of port agency. He brings nearly two decades of experience in the cruise industry.

‘RC grew up as a right hand to his brother JC and, as a direct result, port agency runs through his veins,’ Mifsud said. ‘RC’s hands-on style and can-do attitude has benefited his clients countless times and we look forward to him continuing in this role as he expands his horizons with our new and existing destinations on the US East Coast.’

Robert Cosculluela also will be based in the Miami office, and report directly to Joanne Bowen.
