In this newly created position, Wong leads Starboard's presence in Asia, a key growth market, and will provide stateside teams with a local perspective and deeper understanding of the region's cruise travelers.
Wong joined from Marc Jacobs, where she served as gm for Asia Pacific, responsible for brand strategy and delivering results for Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs, Asia Pacific. She also was responsible for driving the distribution strategy, spearheading category expansions for the region, leading retail partner relationships and providing leadership to cross-functional teams.
Before Marc Jacobs Wong had a progressive career with Nike, where she served in various leadership capacities including merchandising director and gm, supporting both greater China and Asia Pacific. Prior to relocating to Asia, Wong lived in Switzerland while working for the Swiss leather goods company Bally, and in Canada, where she held leadership roles in the real estate sector.
Wong is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, with a working knowledge of Italian and French.
She reports to David Goubert, svp, Luxury Cruise Retail & Asia Office. Reporting directly to Wong will be Stuart Breen, senior district manager; Mandy Lau, merchandise manager; Anita Tam, planning manager, and Jennifer Pan, human resources scheduler.
