Three NCL ships to stage hit musical 'Six'

'Six' features lively performances by six leading ladies and music by an all-female band
'Six,' the critically-acclaimed British pop musical about Henry VIII’s six wives, will debut on board Norwegian Bliss, Breakaway and Getaway beginning next month.

Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived.

Remixing 500 years of heartbreak into a celebration of 21st century girl power, the production features lively performances by six leading ladies and music by an all-female band.

From Edinburgh Fringe Festival to Broadway

Written by aspiring young playwrights Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the musical premiered in 2017 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and debut on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson in spring 2020. 'Six' is produced by Andy and Wendy Barnes of the Global Musicals theater company, award-winning songwriter George Stiles, the acclaimed West End producer Kenny Wax and Broadway impresario Kevin McCollum.

'We’re thrilled to be partnering with Norwegian Cruise Line to showcase this award-winning musical for the first time at sea,' Wax said. 'Originating from the minds of two senior Cambridge University students in the UK, the show has surprised and delighted audiences around the globe.'

Sept. 1 premiere on Norwegian Bliss

'Six' will open Sept. 1 on Norwegian Bliss, Nov. 10 on Norwegian Breakaway and April 23 on Norwegian Getaway.

Norwegian Bliss sails weekly Alaska cruises from Seattle through Sept. 29, weekly Mexican Riviera cruises from Los Angeles beginning Oct. 6 and weeklong Bahamas and Florida voyages from New York starting Nov. 24.

Norwegian Breakaway is offering seven-day eastern and western Caribbean cruises from Miami through Nov. 22, before repositioning to Port Canaveral.

In April 2020, Norwegian Getaway will be operating seven-day voyages to the western Caribbean from New Orleans before returning to Europe for a mix of 10- to 11-day Greek Isles and Italy cruises from Civitavecchia (Rome).
