Juan Trescastro was promoted from SVP business development to president of Metro Cruise Services.

'I'm honored to be given the opportunity to work with the great team Stefano Borzone put together and to build our services in the cruise sector,' Trescastro told Seatrade Cruise News.

Trescastro has been with Metro since June 2017, following a long stint at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

Stefano Borzone has joined Carnival Corp.

(Borzone, who led Metro for 13 years, moved to a position with Carnival Corp. & plc's global port and destination development group, reporting to SVP Giora Israel.)

Metro's multiple services

'We're the only company that offers all services—security, stevedoring, ground handling, shore excursions, events and terminal management. I'm excited to be working with the cruise lines on further development,' Trescastro said.

Michael Gass promoted to national role

In other Metro news, Michael Gass was promoted from regional manager of business development to national director of business development, based in the corporate office in Long Beach, California.

'He'll handle a lot of the West Coast business development, and I'll handle the East Coast,' said Trescastro, who's based in Miami.

Gass has been with Metro since 2011, starting as agency manager and moving up to regional manager in 2016.
