Marking its 50th anniversary - a staff party today at Trimline's Southampton facilities
UK-based interior supplier Trimline celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Today Trimline is a £25m business that delivers a bespoke service to cruise clients including Carnival UK (Cunard and P&O), Royal Caribbean, Thomson Cruises, Windstar, Crystal and Seabourn, plus the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Royal Navy in the military sector, and ferry operators including Red Funnel, Condor Ferries, DFDS and Stena Line.

Having started as a one-man operation in a garage, Trimline now occupies a purpose-designed 33,000sq ft facility in Southampton that has recently seen the addition of a new demonstration galley and electrical department.

The company is marking its milestone anniversary in a number of ways, including a staff party today - half a century to the day since the business was founded. In June, the directors and staff will take a mini-cruise from Hamburg to Southampton aboard Queen Mary 2 and the same month the directors will host a dinner at the Hotel du Vin in Winchester, where the company’s clients will be invited to celebrate its continued success.

'Innovation is at the heart of Trimline,' said chairman Gary Oliver. 'When my father Reg founded the business in 1965, he wanted to give clients the very best tailored solutions and give talented craftsmen career paths that allowed them to realise their full potential. As he so rightly put it, "you’re only as good as the people you employ". That is still very much our ethos today. Over the last 50 years, we have shaped the boundaries of design and function, viewing our customers as strategic partners and focusing on the whole asset lifecycle. We’re currently investing heavily in the business and we believe the next 50 years will be even more exciting.'
