Trois‐Rivières adds choral send-off, expands waterfront market

Québec's Trois‐Rivières will offer a choral send-off for cruise ships this season and is expanding its waterfront market of local products and souvenirs.

The population of Trois‐Rivières is invited to join the city’s many choirs at Harbourfront Park in bidding farewell to each cruise ship by singing Ce n’est qu’un au revoir (Auld Lang Syne).

The many voices joined together will leave an 'indelible memory of our city' in the hearts of visitors, predicted Yolaine Masse, director, Tourisme Trois‐Rivières.

The cruise welcome tent housing a market of local products will have new vendors and exhibitors and will be open to the public during this year's calls to allow passengers and residents to mingle.

In other news, Tourisme Trois-Rivières added a cruise-dedicated section to its website that includes a ship schedule and photos, excursions, attractions and, for cruise planners, port specifics.

2014's calls are Maasdam (May 16), CTMA Le Vacancier (Sept. 19), Pearl Mist (Sept. 25) and Silver Whisper (Oct. 15).

2015 bookings include Marina on May 20, Black Watch on June 4, Insignia on July 25, Albatros on Oct. 2, Sapphire on Oct. 7 and Silver Whisper on Oct. 14.
