U River Cruises — formerly U by Uniworld — detailed three new itineraries in 2020 and the return of The B after its 2019 Seine River program was canceled.

Overnight stays

Debuting in April 2020, U’s seven-night itineraries will visit destinations such as Vienna, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Salzburg, Bratislava and more. New offerings on the sailings include added overnight stays, complimentary happy hour every night and additional active excursions.

'Eastern Europe is hot'

'Eastern Europe is hot and we’re excited to offer three brand-new U itineraries in the region for 2020 as The B rejoins our fleet,' said Ellen Bettridge, president and CEO of U River Cruises. 'U’s itineraries are created with active, social and culturally curious travelers in mind,' she added, with free time to allow travelers to wander on their own, active excursions and an on-board environment that encourages socializing.

The A will offer the new 'Vienna Vibe' and 'Eastern Europe Escapes' itineraries, while The B will offer the 'Amsterdam & Brussels Bound' sailing and an updated 'Rolling on the Rhine' itinerary. In addition to U’s four seven-night itineraries, cruises can be combined to create 14-night voyages without repeating ports.

Amsterdam & Brussels Bound

Beginning on April 3, 2020, The B’s new eight-day itinerary sails between Amsterdam and Brussels, traveling to new destinations for the U brand. Ports include Rotterdam, Middelburg, Ghent and Antwerp. In Brussels, travelers can follow master chocolatiers on a U Time excursion to learn how Belgian chocolates are made while in Antwerp, U’s local guide will show the best local breweries, bars and hot spots.

Vienna Vibe

Beginning on April 10, 2020, this eight-day itinerary sails between Nuremberg and Vienna, stopping in ports like Regensburg, Passau, Linz, Melk and Krems. Travelers will experience U Time excursions such as a street art tour of Linz, and receive a graffiti crash course by a local guide. A hipster tour of Munich via a nine-seater Bulli visits hip shops, eateries and bars. A Wachau Valley hike to view the Aggstein Castle features tastings of local wines and cheeses, and at one of Vienna's most famous dance schools, travelers can learn the Viennese waltz.

Rolling on the Rhine

On April 17, 2020, the 'Rolling on the Rhine' itinerary is back, but better. Sailing between Amsterdam and Frankurt, travelers visit Hoorn, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Koblenz and Rudesheim. New excursions include a nighttime 'Crime Cruise' hosted by a local guide and police officer; the 'Taste of Holland Triathalon,' which covers the region’s booming fishing industry with a boat tour and three tastings of local seasonal fare; and 'Game of Wines,' the ultimate excursion for 'Game of Thrones' fans, which includes a visit to The Abbey Eberbach for a Riesling wine tasting where the hit TV show was filmed.

Eastern Europe Escape

Beginning on April 24, 2020, the new 'Eastern Europe Escape' visits both popular and lesser-known European destinations. Sailing between Vienna and Belgrade, the trip stops at Bratislava, Budapest, Mohacs and Novi Sad. In Vienna, one U Time tour will visit a coffee shop to fuel up before heading to the boutiques and eateries in the trendy 7th district. In Bratislava, a local expert will take travelers to top Soviet monuments as they ride along in Czechoslovakia’s legendary automobile.

U’s itineraries include three daily meals, select shore excursions, Wi-Fi, daily happy hour, on-board gratuities and activities such as mixology classes, silent discos with a local DJ, paint & wine classes, and rooftop yoga. Rates start at $2,799.

Travelers who book and pay in full by June 30, 2019, will receive either 10% savings or an all-inclusive drinks package.
