Both cruise friendly with warm welcomes - Kanazawa and Yokohama seeking to grow cruise turnarounds via cooperation
Fumiko Hayashi, mayor of the city of Yokohama and Masanori Tanimoto, governor of Ishikawa Prefecture signed a co-operation agreement to promote the two Japanese cruise ports of Yokohama and Kanazawa.

There are quite a few itineraries where Yokohama and Kanazawa calls both feature including on Queen Elizabeth’s 2019 and 2020 Asia cruise programs which prompted the pair to push forward with this mutual cooperation.

The agreement includes promoting itineraries to feature Yokohama and Kanazawa as turnaround ports; collaborating on sales, destination PR, and co-organizing cruise seminars.

As the chairperson of the Japan Cruise Port Association, Mayor Hayashi reiterated the importance of vitalizing Japan’s cruise market and the merits in work together in terms of port promotion and destination PR to achieve this very important goal.
