'Even we were taken aback by the unbelievable response of our loyalty members,' Michael Bayley said
Royal Caribbean International sold 70% of its first-ever world cruise, a 274-night odyssey starting in late 2023, within a week of sales opening.

Diamond status and above of the company's 16m Crown & Anchor Society members got an exclusive seven-day booking window.

Royal Suite went for $760,000

The average price for a balcony room was $75,000, while the Royal Suite went for $760,000.

'Even we were taken aback by the unbelievable response of our loyalty members, the fact that in a week we were 70% booked on a ship that carries around 2,100 guests and is on a nine-month world cruise is just remarkable, and that's indicative of [the demand] we're seeing,' RCI President and CEO Michael Bayley said during today's third quarter earnings call.

Nonrefundable deposits

Bayley noted the suites were booked with nonrefundable deposits.

The 'Ultimate World Cruise' on Serenade of the Seas was announced Oct. 20. The ship will sail round-trip Miami on Dec. 10, 2023, through Sept. 10, 2024.
