Aida Cruises is building two schools in India from donations collected by passengers and crew over several weeks onboard AIDAbella.

A new special school with a large classroom and a teachers' room for a total of 120 primary school pupils will be constructed in the village of Gundumala. The village of Venkatampalli will receive a preschool for around 25 children with an integrated kitchen, sanitary facilities and a spacious veranda. The projects will get underway in the coming months.

Charitable intiiative

The several engagement activities held onboard AIDAbella to gather the funds were part of the line’s AIDA Cruise & Help initiative, dedicated to supporting education in emerging and developing countries. Including the two projects, it has been behind 35 school building projects worldwide.

Sharing success

‘It's great to see that we were able to share some of our success and carry the AIDA feeling even to India,’ commented hotel director Katharina Jegg and entertainment manger Tobias Klaus. ‘We wish the children and their families all the happiness, joy, and contentment in their new schools.’
