AIDA Cruises reports the new year started with high demand, particularly for spring and summer sailings, with interest in next winter and summer 2023 'at a high level' and growing.

Another ship, AIDAaura, will resume cruise operations on May 7 with a 14-day voyage from Hamburg around Great Britain and to Ireland.

However, AIDAvita's cruises until the end of May are canceled. Passengers are being contacted with rebooking options.

12 ships in service by summer's start

'At the beginning of summer, 12 AIDA ships will be underway again, offering vacation trips to the most beautiful European destinations,' said Alexander Ewig, SVP marketing and sales, AIDA Cruises.

The new LNG-powered AIDAcosma enters service Feb. 26 from Hamburg with cruises to Western Europe. Following its naming April 9 in Hamburg, the ship will reposition for weeklong cruises from Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona until October.

Other AIDA ships will sail in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Adriatic, Norway and the Baltic.

With the 'AIDA Summer Promise,' passengers can reschedule their cruise — the date or the itinerary — once free of charge up to 30 days before departure. This applies to new bookings made from Jan. 19 to March 31 for most summer voyages departing from March 30 to Oct. 31.

Marketing campaign
