Carnival Panorama will debut Carnival Cruise Line’s first culinary studio. Carnival Kitchen promises to be an engaging, hands-on experience led by the line’s chefs.

More than 15 classes

Passengers have a choice of more than 15 cooking classes inspired by the international cuisines showcased on Carnival Panorama.

‘We’ve created a diverse selection of experiences that cater to every type of palate, so whether our guests want to learn how to master their favorite foods or want to try something new, Carnival Kitchen has it all,’ said Cyrus Marfatia, VP culinary and dining for Carnival.

Carnival classics, Far East flavors, a cake workshop

Sample Carnival Kitchen offerings include ‘Carnival Classics Workshop Class with Dinner,’ sharing recipes from popular shipboard dishes including tuna tartare from Fahrenheit 555 steak house, saffron risotto from Cucina del Capitano family-style Italian restaurant and Carnival’s most popular dessert, chocolate melting cake.

‘The Orient Unknown Class with Dinner’ will help participants explore the flavors of the Far East including noodle dishes, soups, satays and desserts from the cuisines of Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and more.

In ‘Cake Workshop,’ passengers follow step-by-step instructions to create a confectionary masterpiece from layering and filling to using handmade fondant, ornate and edible decorations. And ‘Pasta Master Class’ delves into Italian cooking and preparing homemade pasta by mixing, rolling and molding fresh dough into creative shapes and pairing them with sauces from scratch.

Plus, sushi rolling, pizza making and pie baking

Additional classes include sushi rolling, pizza making and pie baking, among many others, and participants have the opportunity to sample their creations. One-hour and two-hour morning, afternoon and early evening sessions are available primarily on sea days and can accommodate up to 18 participants each. Reservations can be made on pre-cruise or at any restaurant once on board.

Located on Deck 4 aft, Carnival Kitchen offers nine marbled-granite cooking and prep stations with individual sinks, refrigerators and stove tops as well as tools, utensils and ingredients. The space is accented with white and gray pattern tiled floors and steel ceilings and walls.

Dining area for evening classes

A dedicated dining area within the Carnival Kitchen for participants in the evening classes facilitates a themed, sit-down dinner included in the price. Class prices range from $30 to $59, and Carnival Kitchen-branded items are available for purchase on board.
