Chef Raymond Blanc to join Scenic culinary cruise

Michelin star chef Raymond Blanc OBE will join passengers for a culinary cruise in France on board Scenic Diamond this autumn.

The eight-day ‘Flavours of Bordeaux’ will see passengers meet Blanc for an interactive cookery demonstration and tasting, before learning his kitchen secrets during an exclusive Q&A session. This will be followed by a complimentary book signing and a dinner selected by the chef.

Two Michelin star chef Blanc specialises in French cuisine, expressed in his books, television programmes and restaurant & brasseries. His internationally recognised restaurant Le Manoir has trained over 35 Michelin starred chefs, including Marco Pierre White and Michael Caines.

Itinerary highlights 

The roundtrip from Bordeaux, travelling along the Dordogne River, will depart October 10 with calls at Saint-Émilion, Libourne, Blaye, Médoc, and Cadillac. Passengers will be able to sample fresh oysters from the waters of Arcachon Bay, fine Cognac at the Rémy Martin estate, and participate in an exclusive Cheese of France tasting experience, sampling the country’s most celebrated cheeses and wine in Pauillac. 

Other highlights include cycling through the vineyards of Sauternes to taste the Grand Cru Classé vintages of Château Lafaurie Peyraguey and cruising through the scenic Médoc wine route, experiencing the region’s finest at a local estate. 

Passengers will return to Bordeaux to shop with a chef at a local food market before participating in a cooking lesson.
