China Merchants Shekou cooperates with MSC Cruises

Shekou cruise port welcomed MSC Splendida last week
China Merchants Shekou, the city development and asset resources management platform of China Merchants Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MSC Cruises to jointly develop cruise business in China.

The two parties will start cooperation on developing the cruise market in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and extend the cooperation to the whole cruise industry chain in the future, including cruise fleet operation, cruise port and destination development, and financial services.

Huang Ruiling, president of MSC Cruises China said, 'Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is an important growth point of China cruise market, the cooperation with China Merchants Shekou is to fulfill our commitment to China cruise market.'

Xu Yongjun, chairman of China Merchants Shekou said, 'China's cruise market has great potential, China Merchants will actively participant in the cruise sector development and strengthen the competitiveness of China's cruise tourism industry.'

MSC Splendida's first South China season

Last week, MSC Splendida called at Shekou, Shenzhen and launched its first South China cruise season. 

In 2020, MSC Bellissima will visit China. The ship will be mostly based in Shanghai to serve the Chinese home market, and will also offer a number of sailings from Japan.
