Showcase for the country's tourism product and ports
In addition, FCCA said this will be a chance for the Dominican Republic to showcase its offerings, including driving demand for developing a new cruise terminal in Samaná and for the Sans Souci Terminal in Santo Domingo.
Recently, ground was broken for a new cruise port at Cabo Rojo in Pedernales on the southwest coast.
Cruise ships also call at Puerto Plata's Taino Bay and at Carnival Corp. & plc's nearby Amber Cove, at Isla Catalina, La Romana and Punta Cana.
The Dominican Republic last hosted the FCCA in 2010.
Follows this month's Puerto Rico summit
Earlier this month, FCCA held a cruise summit in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
