NCL promotes longer, port-intensive ‘Extraordinary Journeys’

Norwegian Star will operate South America cruises between Chile and Argentina, among other longer 'Extraordinary Journeys'
Norwegian Cruise Line introduced ‘Extraordinary Journeys,’ 11- to 22-day port-intensive itineraries.

These 2021 sailings cover many regions of the globe, from the 22-day ‘African Safari and Seychelles’ voyage on Norwegian Dawn to a 15-day Alaska cruise on Norwegian Sun.

South America

From Jan. 2 to April 16, Norwegian Star will sail eight ‘Extraordinary Journeys,’ seven in South America and one in Northern Europe.

The 14-day South America voyages between San Antonio (for Santiago), Chile, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, from Jan. 2 to March 13, explore the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, sailing around Cape Horn. Ports include Puerto Montt, Puerto Chacabuco and Punta Arenas, Chile; Ushuaia and Puerto Madryn, Argentina; Stanley, Falkland Islands; and Montevideo and Punta del Este, Uruguay.

On March 27, Norwegian Star departs on a 17-day cruise stopping at six countries and transiting the Panama Canal before arriving to Miami. Ports are Coquimbo and Arica, Chile; Pisco, Callao (Lima) and Salaverry (Trujillo), Peru; Puerto Limón, Costa Rica; Roatán, Honduras; Harvest Caye, Belize; and Costa Maya, Mexico.

From New York to afar

Returning to Europe on April 16, Norwegian Star will depart New York on a 16-day ‘Extraordinary Journey’ to Southampton, cruising to the British Isles, France and Iceland. Calls include Halifax, Nova Scotia; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Dublin and Cobh (Cork), Ireland; Liverpool and Portland, UK; Le Havre (Paris), France; and an overnight in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Norwegian Jade’s 15-day ‘Extraordinary Journey’ on April 22, from New York to Amsterdam, visits Halifax, Reykjavik (overnight), Belfast; Holyhead in Wales, Le Havre and Belgium’s Zeebrugge (Brussels/Bruges).
