Plus, shipment of supplies
Additionally, AQSC committed to contributing other supplies such as clean towels and linens, soaps and essentials to be loaded in Miami and delivered to the islands via ships.
Passengers and crew can contribute to the relief efforts by visiting the reception desk aboard AQSC vessels to add Hurricane Dorian relief effort charges to their on-board accounts or contribute cash. All funds collected through September will go directly toward the cause.
All Hands and Hearts
AQSC is working closely with All Hands and Hearts, a nonprofit organization that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters, in conjunction with the government of the Bahamas.
According to the American Red Cross, Hurricane Dorian has affected some 76,000 people and preliminary damage reports suggest more than 13,000 houses have been damaged or destroyed. That equals about 45% of all dwellings on Abaco and Grand Bahama. With an infrastructure underwater and residents without shelter, Hurricane Dorian has had a catastrophic impact.
Support for 'special place our team and guests know and love'
‘The devastation that we’ve seen in the Bahamas is tragic,’ AQSC EVP David William Kelly said. ‘We are fully committed to aid in the recovery efforts and want the islands to know that we’re here to support the recovery and rebuilding of a special place that our team and guests know and love.’
