Cruise Lines International Association member lines are supporting Cruise Month with an array of special deals for consumers and travel agents.

Senior representatives of the cruise lines and stakeholders attended a cocktail reception on Wednesday to celebrate the start of 2019/20 wave season and the launch of Cruise Month.

Hosted by CLIA Australasia, it was held at Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour, a fitting venue overlooking the Overseas Passenger Terminal.

Silversea’s Silver Select

Silversea Cruises was quick off the mark by rewarding passengers who book a suite on any 160 voyages departing 2019, 2020 and 2021 from now until October 31 with Silver Select — a choice of either A$500 off the total cruise fare, a US$500 on-board spa credit or a US$500 excursion credit.

‘We believe that the authentic beauty of the world is just a voyage away, and with this exclusive new offer we are making the remote and remarkable even more accessible for our guests,’ Adam Armstrong, MD Australia and New Zealand, said.

Attendance at industry events

CLIA Australasia Chairman Sture Myrmell said attendance at the reception and other major cruise industry events, like the sixth annual Cruise360 Australasia held in August, is testament to the important role of cruising.

Myrmell said the choice of cruise ships is now wider than ever, with 60 ships coming to Australasia this Southern Hemisphere summer.
