Celestyal Cruises charts its first Adriatic itineraries

Celestyal Cruises, known for Greek Islands and East Mediterranean sailings, is going to branch into the Adriatic Sea for the first time.

December departures

The line’s new 2020/2021 brochure features a seven-night ‘Romantic Adriatic’ itinerary in December next year. The cruise visits Venice, Corfu, Patras, Kotor, Dubrovnik and Split at a time when these popular destinations are far less crowded than during the summer months.

The itinerary gives access to UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Christmas markets in Venice and Dubrovnik and an excursion to medieval Kotor. This all-inclusive cruise starts at $1,250. Departure dates are Dec. 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Special one-time cruises

Also new for 2020/2021 are one-time cruises including a three-night, short-break cruise from Cyprus to Piraeus (Jan. 3, April 1 and Dec. 3, 2020) with a stop in Turkey; a five-night itinerary from Piraeus to Venice (Nov. 30, 2020) with calls at Montenegro and Croatia; and a seven-night Venice to Piraeus cruise (Jan. 2, 2021) with two overnight stays in Venice and Piraeus. All-inclusive three-night cruise fares start at $339.

New itinerary traces St. Paul’s footsteps

New for 2021 is a special, seven-night ‘Steps of Paul’ itinerary that traces the footsteps of St. Paul across the Mediterranean on an exclusive sailing on Oct. 16. Included are visits to St. Paul’s birthplace in what was once the Roman city of Tarsus and is now part of Turkey. Passengers will also visit St. Paul’s Tribune at the Vlatadon Monastery, Philippi, the prison where Paul and St. Sylas were held captive. And they will have the opportunity to ride a cable car to the Acropolis in Pergamon and visit the ancient city of Ephesus. This special, all-inclusive cruise starts at $1,500.

Plus, longer cruises and extended seasons for popular routes

In March 2020 and March 2021 Celestyal will introduce 14-night immersive sailings visiting Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel and Turkey, starting at $2,080, including six excursions. Due to its continued popularity, the ‘Idyllic Aegean’ itinerary’s season will be expanded through October. A new feature of the ‘Eclectic Aegean’ itinerary will allow embarkations from Heraklion, Crete, in addition to Piraeus and Istanbul.

In 2020-2021 Celestyal Cruises will continue its well-established three- and four-night ‘Iconic Aegean’ cruises and further strengthen its seven-night program. The seven-night ‘Eclectic Aegean’ will sail April 4 to May 9 and Oct. 10 to 24, 2020, and March 13 to 27 and Oct. 23 to Nov. 6, 2021.

The seven-night ‘Idyllic Aegean’ cruises will depart from May 16 to Oct. 3 , 2020, and April 3 to Oct. 9, 2021. The seven-night ‘Three Continents’ cruise will sail Feb. 29 to March 28 and Oct. 31 to Dec. 26, 2020, and Feb. 6 to March 6 and Nov. 13 to Dec. 25, 2021.
