Costa partners with Le Cesarine for taste of traditional Rome

Hands-on cooking classes hosted by Italy's Le Cesarine
Costa Cruises has partnered with Italian cultural gastronomic association, Le Cesarine to give guests a hands on experience of preparing traditional seasonal Italian recipes and to sample local wine.

Private cooking classes, locally sourced lunches, dinners and market tours can be booked in addition for itineraries that call at Rome’s Civitavecchia.

The cruise line is expected to make over 100 calls to the port of Rome from August 2019 to the end of the summer season 2020.

Le Cesarine has built up a network of over 700 hosts in 120 Italian cities to allow visitors to experience Italy’s culinary heritage.

Mario Alovisi, vice president of revenue management, itinerary & transportation for Costa Cruises, said: ‘We are excited to announce the new partnership with Le Cesarine and we hope in the future to be able to extend this partnership to other Italian ports.’

Costa recently announced plans to strengthens its Mediterranean presence with LNG-powered newbuilds Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana, under construction at Meyer Turku, destined for the Mediterranean.
