The pair of 135,000gt ships would be slightly larger than Disney Dream and and Disney Fantasy, delivered in 2011 and 2012
The Walt Disney Co. announced a memorandum of agreement with Meyer Werft to build two cruise ships. The schedule calls for their completion in 2021 and 2023.

Each ship will be approximately 135,000gt, slightly larger than Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, which Meyer delivered in 2011 and 2012. And each would have about 1,250 passenger staterooms.

'We pride ourselves on the unforgettable vacation experiences we deliver to our guests each and every day, and the expansion of our Disney fleet will allow us to create even more magical memories for families at sea and in incredible cruise destinations around the world,' said Robert Iger, chairman and ceo, the Walt Disney Co.

Design plans, ship names and itineraries are still in development. No price was disclosed.

The two orders are the furthest out for any cruise operator. Until now, the orderbook for firmly contracted ocean-going ships went just until 2019.
