Emerald's new Mekong vessel can access central Ho Chi Minh City

Star-Ship Emerald Harmony will carry 84 passengers in spacious accommodations
Perhaps the most innovative feature of Emerald Waterways' newest Star-Ship, Emerald Harmony—to navigate the Mekong River between Vietnam and Cambodia beginning in August 2019—is its clever design. Unlike most similar-sized Mekong vessels, it can access the center of Ho Chi Minh City, so travelers will disembark right into the action instead of needing to travel in by motor coach.

Emerald Harmony features authentic Asian design fused with the modern amenities of a boutique hotel. The 84-passenger vessel will provide 13-, 17- and 21-day cruise and tour packages.

Spacious accommodations

The spacious cabins include 32 273-square-foot Panorama Balcony Suites with drop-down windows, four 398-square-foot Grand Balcony Suites and two 450-square-foot Owner’s Suites with wrap-around terraces and private hot tubs.

Other features are the Asian-themed Horizon Bar & Lounge, a pool and a 2:1 passenger to crew ratio. Reflections Restaurant will serve a locally inspired menu. Featuring dark wooden tones and muted colors, Lotus Lounge, situated at the front of the Vista Deck, is a quiet spot to relax and watch the horizon unfold.

The 13-day 'Majestic Mekong' cruise-tour sails between Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap with time to explore Angkor Wat. The 17-day 'Treasures & Temples of Vietnam & Cambodia' program adds stops at Hanoi and Halong Bay in the north, and the 21-day 'Grand Tour of Vietnam & Cambodia' itinerary includes Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hue and Siem Reap.

All itineraries include a visit to the busy metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam War reminders are never far away—whether the Cu Chi Tunnels, a network of underground passageways constructed by the Communist guerillas, or the War Remnants Museum. In the Mekong Delta, highlights include a visit to a family-owned silk factory and My An Hung village.

A visit to Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh contrasts the elaborate Royal Palace complex with the tragic reminders of the Khmer Rouge regime at the Killing Fields. A stop at a monastery offers a traditional Buddhist blessing. And in Siem Reap, travelers visit the ruins of the world’s largest temple, Angkor Wat.

Limited time offer of free round-trip air

Emerald Harmony bookings from the US made by Aug. 31, 2018, offer free round-trip airfare to Asia and $100 on-board credit per person, or $3,000 per couple. Travelers can save up to an additional $1,000 per couple by paying in full by Aug. 31, 2018. Those who book after Aug. 31 can choose free air or $3,000 off per couple through Oct. 31, 2018, and those who pay in full by that date can save up to an additional $600 per couple. These inaugural offers are valid on 13-, 17- and 21-day cruise-tours.

On touring days, hotel accommodations, internal flights and transfers are also included.
