Huanghai Shipbuilding inks Aranui 6 order

Chinese shipyard Huanghai Shipbuilding signed a contract with Aranui Cruises of Compagnie Polynesienne de Transport Maritime for the construction of Aranui 6.

The delivery date and price were not disclosed.

The 14,500gt ship will be able to carry 280 passengers and 119 crew. It will have a length of 139.9 meters, a draught of 5.2 meters and a maximum speed of 17 knots.

Aranui 6 will provide a lounge for entertainment, a grill bar, shops, conference room, children’s playground, library, gym, spa and superior deluxe suites.

Slightly larger than Aranui 5

In 2015, Huanghai Shipbuilding delivered the passenger-cargo ship Aranui 5, which stretches 125 meters and carries 256 passengers.

That vessel will offer new itineraries in 2021, including a maiden voyage to the Cook Islands, an expanded Pitcairn itinerary and its first dedicated Society Islands cruise.
