This second vessel in a planned series of five modern riverboats for the line is 23 days of schedule and en route to New Orleans to prepare for its Aug. 17 inaugural cruise along the Mississippi River.
Slightly larger
The 190-passenger American Harmony is slightly larger than the series' flagship, American Song, and offers the same elegant interior design and technical features that include a patent-pending opening bow and retractable gangway. Advanced engines reduce the carbon footprint.
More suites, solo rooms, additional dining spot
The six-deck vessel has a multi-story atrium, and 10 more large veranda suites on Deck 5. All-balcony staterooms are found throughout.
The top accommodations are Grand Suites, at more than 800 square feet, with separate living and sleeping quarters, and Owner’s Suites at 645 square feet. Single-occupancy staterooms measure 250 square feet.
An additional casual dining venue is called The Back Porch Café.
Mississippi-bound
American Harmony’s inaugural cruise is an eight-day round-trip New Orleans itinerary, part of the line's nine different Mississippi sailings ranging from five days to 22 days. These include holiday and theme sailings. American Harmony will sail the Mississippi for the balance of 2019 and in 2020.
This is the line's third vessel on the Mississippi. Another modern-style boat, American Jazz, is scheduled to be floated out in the autumn for 2020 delivery. Next year American Cruise Lines will have two modern riverboats and two Victorian-style paddlewheelers plying the Mississippi.
