Young fleet
Next year Riviera's fleet will number 13 five-star ships, none of them older than six years.
Geoffrey Chaucer will be the line's sixth all-suite ship and, like Riviera's other new vessels in recent years, it offers a second restaurant to provide a choice in dining, according to Riviera's Marilyn Conroy, VP sales and marketing North America.
The more intimate second restaurant, The Bistro, at the stern of the ship, will have an open kitchen with a chef ready to take special orders, as well as panorama windows that allow for alfresco dining.
Other Geoffrey Chaucer features include a main restaurant, panoramic observation lounge, fitness center, spa, wellness area, boutique and sun deck. The vessel will be decorated in sustainable hardwoods, brass, polished copper and intricate wrought iron.
Suites start at 172 square feet
Each of the 88 suites measure at least 172 square feet. Diamond and Ruby Deck suites will bring the French balcony inside with views from floor-to-ceiling sliding-glass windows. Deluxe Balcony Suites on the Diamond Deck will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors that open onto a small private balcony.
