Christian Sauleau will oversee marine, technical, hotel, crewing and entertainment
Christian Sauleau is returning to Silversea Cruises as EVP fleet operations, the job he held before decamping to Crystal Cruises for a year as SVP operations and total guest satisfaction. He left Crystal in April.

Back at Silversea Sauleau will oversee marine, technical, hotel, crewing and entertainment for the company's nine-ship fleet. He reports to CEO Roberto Martinoli and will be based in the Monaco office.

Concurrent with Sauleau's return, the company is harmonizing titles across levels, offices and functions to simplify the system and align itself with standard international practices.

Reporting to Sauleau will be Andre Nordseth, who assumes the title of SVP hotel operations; Elisabetta De Nardo, who becomes VP port & destination operations; Alessandra Rossi Derubeis, now VP on-board revenue; and Roberto Fazi, director of technical operations & newbuilding.

Captains and ship personnel are also Sauleau's responsibility.

'We are very excited to have Christian back on our leadership team,' Martinoli said. 'He understands with perfection our top quality standards in order for us to become the best company in the luxury cruise business.'

Martinoli added Sauleau will be an invaluable asset as Silversea prepares to further expand its fleet.

Sauleau has an extensive career in luxury travel, including nearly 20 years at Silversea. Starting in the mid-1990s, he was instrumental in developing the line's reputation for personalized service and hospitality. He also has expertise in launching new ships. Past positions were with brands including Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Royal Viking Line.
