Silversea hires new Australasia sales director

Steve Richards' appointment reflects Silversea’s commitment to the travel agency network

Steve Richards has replaced Craig Owens as sales director Australia and New Zealand for Silversea Cruises.

Richards is a former GM for Wendy Wu Tours, a Yangtze River cruise specialist.

MD Adam Armstrong also announced that Sandra Cahill, who has worked for Pandaw River Cruises and APT, has been appointed business development manager for northern NSW, replacing Julie Golding who has been promoted to key accounts manager.

Annie Weinert, who has been with Silversea for more than 10 years, also joins the sales team to further support the trade.

Integral role of travel agents

Armstrong said the new appointments demonstrate the integral role played by travel agents in Silversea’s future business strategy.

‘We are currently going through an exciting period of growth and transformation which involves the refurbishment of all our ships and also the launch of another five ocean and expedition ships over the next few years,’ Armstrong said.
