Stepping down as ceo, Christina Siaw will continue to advise the Singapore Cruise Centre
After eight years at the helm as the ceo of Singapore Cruise Centre Pte Ltd (SCC), Christina Siaw retired from the company with effect from December 31 2018. She is continuing as a consultant to the board so they can tap on Siaw’s experience and knowledge in the cruise and ferry sector.

Speaking to SCN, Loh Lik Peng, interim ceo of SCC, said ‘over the years as ceo of SCC, Christina has successfully developed a close working relationship with all the key stakeholders in the cruise and ferry eco-system which included international cruise lines, port agents and ferry operators.

‘Her customer friendly approach has won SCC praises for its customer service and operational excellence. In addition, Christina also worked closely with the government agencies and authorities and today, SCC enjoys good support from the authorities for initiatives on promoting cruise and ferry tourism.’

Raising awareness among Asia's terminal operators

He added, ‘Leveraging this, Asia Cruise Terminal Association (ACTA) which is regional multi-national industry forum for cruise terminal operators, Christina promoted and raised awareness among the member countries to cooperate on terminal development, operations and management.’

Siaw told SCN, ‘I count myself fortunate to have worked with a team of very hard-working people who have made my eight years at SCC one of the most satisfying experiences of my career. I am grateful for their support and the opportunity to work and grow with them and the organization. I believe that now is the right opportunity for me to retire to smell the roses and give back to the community through some of the non-profit organizations I would like to be involved in.’

She concluded, ‘I am assured SCC’s formidable team of experienced managers will be able to keep its well-oiled machinery going during the leadership transition.’

A hospitality sector veteran

Loh will take over as interim ceo, until Siaw’s replacement is found. Loh is a veteran in the hospitality industry. He was the founding director of Unlisted Collection, which is an umbrella brand of boutique hotel properties and restaurants in Singapore, London, Shanghai and Sydney.

He joined SCC in 2014, serving as a Member of the Nominating Committee and Remuneration Committee, and later became the chairman of SCC.
