After debuting in Barcelona last month, Spectrum of the Seas made its arrival to India, calling at Mumbai on Thursday.

Royal Caribbean International's 168,666gt Quantum Ultra ship is on a 14-night cruise from Dubai to Singapore. The next port call is Cochin on Saturday.

'Largest and most innovative'

Spectrum of the Seas is 'the largest and most innovative [cruise ship[ yet to touch Indian shores,' Mumbai Port CEO Varun Chadha said. 'Her deployment in Singapore in May and then in Shanghai June onwards will give Indians access to the best of cruising while visiting exciting destinations in Thailand, Malaysia and Japan.'

Plaques were exchanged between Spectrum of the Seas Capt. Charles Teige and Jaykumar Rawal, tourism minister of Maharashtra; Sanjay Bhatia, chairman of Mumbai Port; and Keki Master, SVP of JM Baxi.
