The Viking Maritime Skills Academy (MSA) is helping the industry set new standards by delivering a new level of STCW maritime and fire safety training.

A world-class centre, we are Viking Recruitment’s vision for a new type of academy offering complete training management. Now delivering over 5,000 courses annually, the MSA was founded to meet today’s advanced safety and training standards and robust certification requirements expected from the maritime industry worldwide.

Our vision is to be widely recognised as the standard bearer for marine, shoreside and fire safety training standards.

With many companies still only just meeting basic standards, we are supporting seafarers and our partner operators reach a new level of excellence.

A state-of-the-art facility, the MSA is conveniently positioned on the Viking Campus on the heights of Dover and overlooks the busiest international seaway in the world.

The encapsulation of a vision for a new type of academy, the MSA meets the high standards of commercial operators (we are Maritime & Coastguard Agency and ISO:9001 accredited course providers) yet still takes into account the practical needs of visiting delegates.

We never forget how above all our purpose is to save lives and prevent unnecessary accidents.

Steering The Way

The MSA is part of the Viking family of maritime companies, a group with international interests throughout the maritime industry.

Following our success in the UK we are developing a strong ambition to open further academies around the world to service Viking’s client base, now spanning marine shipping, cruise lines, offshore and renewables, maritime construction and private yachts.

Passionate about our work, today we consider ourselves the leading provider in the industry and our customers and partners seem to agree. They, like us, work in a demanding industry where liability for crew safety can often rest on senior managers and directors and where there are no second chances. We have a huge responsibility.

Part of The Viking Family

MSA is part of the global Viking Recruitment family of companies and is located within the Viking Campus in the UK. Symbolising our growth, over the past 30 years Viking has become far more than just a company, it has become a global maritime family.

Today, the reach of Viking spans the breadth and width of the maritime industry. Centred around our UK headquarters, on the fast-developing Viking Campus – overlooking the Straits of Dover, the busiest international seaway in the world – are offices in Southampton, Channel Islands, Philippines and New Zealand.

Viking strives to sustain and develop its brand as leading a maritime services brand and one which looks to set new standards throughout this truly international industry
