Nieuw Amsterdam is scheduled to keep its Feb. 8 departure from Port Everglades
Holland America Line canceled Nieuw Amsterdam’s Feb. 1 seven-day Caribbean cruise to replace one of the ship’s two Azipod propulsion systems.

The 2010-built vessel will go to Grand Bahama Shipyard for the work.

Nieuw Amsterdam missed a Caribbean cruise in December because of the Azipod problem.

Feb. 8 cruise on schedule

HAL said it anticipates no change to the Feb. 8 sailing from Port Everglades.

Compensation

Passengers on the Feb. 1 sailing have been contacted. They have the option to move to any other 2020 winter or spring seven-day Caribbean or Mexico cruise in the equivalent stateroom category and receive a future cruise credit equal to 100% of the cruise fare paid toward a future voyage.

If another destination is preferred, passengers can apply the cruise fare paid to the new booking and will receive a future cruise credit of 50% of the cruise fare paid.
