Port Everglades sees marginal cruise growth in fiscal 2019

Cruise passenger movements at Port Everglades grew 1%, to 3.89m, during fiscal 2019.

The 3,892,215 passenger movements figure includes day cruises. The number of multi-day cruise passenger movements rose from 3,741,408 in fiscal 2018 to 3,773,062 in fiscal 2019.

The numbers are according to the port’s preliminary figures on the period from Oct. 1, 2018, through Sept. 1, 2019.

New Cruise Terminal 25

Cruise Terminal 25, one of the industry’s most revolutionary facilities, opened early in fiscal 2019 in time for the arrival of Celebrity Cruises’ first new ship class in a decade, Celebrity Edge. The port also welcomed Holland America Line’s newest Pinnacle-class ship, the 2,650-passenger Nieuw Statendam.

Overall revenue at the port edged up 2%, from $168m in fiscal 2018 to $170.7m in fiscal 2019.
