RCL is creating dedicated single brand teams in Australia and New Zealand for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara.

Local MD Gavin Smith, who recently returned to Australia after four years in the UK as SVP international, will continue to head Royal Caribbean.

Susan Bonner leads search for Celebrity MD

Susan Bonner, who had replaced Smith since June 2018 and had returned to Miami to lead a special project for Celebrity Cruises, has returned to Sydney to oversee the search for a local Celebrity MD.

Azamara will also be bolstered with new local sales resources and international support to acquaint Australasian passengers with the brand’s destination-focused land and sea experiences. Further information is to come.

Sales teams to grow

‘Our three brands will grow their sales teams, strengthening our trade relationships and offering more opportunities for store visits and sales support,’ Smith said.

‘We are excited about the year ahead for each brand. In the next 12 months we will see the arrival of Celebrity Apex, the expansion of our 1,700 land programmes for Azamara and the launch of Odyssey of the Seas for Royal Caribbean.’
