There is limited availability on three world cruise segments, including Sydney, where Silver Whisper is pictured, to Bali, departing Feb. 3
Silversea’s Silver Whisper has embarked on its ‘Tale of Tales’ world cruise following extensive refurbishments and after what Silversea deemed a hugely successful pre-voyage event.

Pico Iyer is aboard

The ship welcomed world cruisers aboard in San Francisco for the start of the 133-day voyage, including author Pico Iyer—the first of nine creatives who will enrich the voyage.

During a drydock from Dec. 1-19, Silver Whisper underwent 'Musification' to add elements of the newest ship in the fleet, Silver Muse. The initial refurbishment plans were augmented following the launch of Project Invictus, an initiative to take Silversea's offerings to the next level.

Enhanced public areas and suites

All public areas and accommodations were enhanced. New carpets were laid throughout the hallways, staircases, in the main restaurant, the main bar and accommodations. The main restaurant underwent a complete refurbishment, with new curtains, new chairs and new wallpaper, among other enhancements. The spa and gym gained new equipment and other improvements, and the beauty salon was completely upgraded. The card & conference room was entirely renovated.

La Terrazza, the Panorama Lounge, the central staircase and the casino were each dramatically enhanced. The Pool Deck benefited from a new teak design, and the Pool Bar & Grill were overhauled. New sun loungers and new balcony furniture completed the refurbishment of outdoor areas.

In Silver Whisper’s top suites, changes included new carpet, upholstery, furniture and wallpaper, and revamped wooden surfaces. In all suites the bathrooms were improved, and new mattresses, curtains and furniture were installed.

During the 'Tale of Tales' voyage, each of the creatives will illustrate their sailed segment by producing a work of art such as a written text or photograph. Passengers will receive an exclusive anthology containing all nine artworks to document their experiences.

Gala bon voyage event

Approximately 230 cruisers attended the pre-voyage gala dinner at the Jewish Contemporary Museum in San Francisco, featuring harp and trumpet musice, an LED wall, temple-themed lounges, a cocktail reception and dinner curated by Four Seasons.

Silversea said there is still limited availability for three segments of the world voyage: Sydney to Bali, departing Feb. 3, Bali to Tokyo on Feb. 16 and Tokyo to Singapore on March 2.
