The Reef Family Splash Zone, now available aboard Caribbean Princess, offers a water play pad, newly refurbished pool, Jacuzzi and bar serving kid-friendly mocktails.

It also features a lounge area with plush seating where families can gather to relax in the sun, shade and water.

Rave reviews

'The Reef Splash Zone has opened to rave reviews from kids and parents alike,' according to Denise Saviss, VP entertainment experiences for Princess Cruises. 'We reimagined the space to offer families a dedicated spot to spend time together in a welcoming and safe environment.'

Located aft on Deck 17, The Reef's focal point is an interactive Winnie the Whale feature that 'rains' from its fluke and sprays from its spout. Winne is also part of the line’s Animal Planet endangered species program in the Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Centers where kids learn about humpback whales.

Colorful murals of a whale’s fluke are painted at both entrances to The Reef where kids can pose for photos.

A Game Zone provides lounge sectionals and a kid-friendly bar setting where families can order special drinks while playing backyard games like Cornhole.

The pool, spa and bar have been updated to match the newly designed space featuring fresh signage and contemporary artwork. Morgan’s Bar opened with a new kid-friendly and fruity mocktail menu, including Crazy Coconut and Berry Nice to Meet You drinks.

Proximity to Camp Discovery

Just below The Reef on Deck 16 in the Camp Discovery outdoor area, kids can interact and explore with a destination-themed water table. This educational offering features the many destinations and landmarks Princess visits, including the Sydney Opera House and Golden Gate Bridge, and highlights how a cruise ship moves through water and weather. It also shows how vessels navigate the Panama Canal locks.

More family features and OceanMedallion

Over the last few years Caribbean Princess has undergone a major revitalization, with many family-oriented features and amenities including family accommodations, new dining experiences and entertainment. The ship was the first to offer the OceanMedallion wearable device to deliver more personalized service.

Caribbean Princess currently sails alternating seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, round-trip Fort Lauderdale. In autumn the ship will redeploy to Canada/New England before returning to Fort Lauderdale for Caribbean and Panama Canal itineraries.
