European river cruise company A-ROSA, a member of the Cruise Lines International Association’s Europe River Marketing Affiliate, has joined CLIA Australasia’s River Marketing Affiliate.

This follows the recent appointment of Birgit Eisbrenner as regional director Australia and New Zealand.

Eisbrenner said the company, which operates cruises along the Rhine, Danube, Rhone, Seine and Douro waterways with a fleet of 12, plans to increase its profile in the region.

Positive response

‘Since A-ROSA’s launch in Australia and New Zealand in October 2019, we have been absolutely delighted by the positive response we have received from the trade,’ she said.

‘As a member of CLIA (Australasia), we now have the perfect platform to engage with the very best cruise agents Australia and New Zealand have to offer, allowing us to showcase our superb product offering and establish further preferred partner agreements.

Growing the brand

‘Due to its flexible itineraries and relaxed on-board atmosphere, A-ROSA is the perfect choice for Australians and New Zealanders and we look forward to growing the brand even further in Australasia.’

CLIA Australasia and Asia MD Joel Katz said the River Marketing Affiliate programmes bring together organisations with a common goal of supporting and developing the international river cruise industry.

Significant market

‘River cruising continues to be a dynamic and popular sector within the international cruise industry and the Australasian region is one of its most significant markets,’ Katz said.

He said A-ROSA’s membership is a sign of the increasing diversity of river cruise options available to Australian and New Zealand travellers and the enormous opportunity this presents to travel agents.
