It's a smash! The 15-liter bottle of Veuve Clicquot breaks on Seven Seas Splendor's bow
Supermodel Christie Brinkley named Seven Seas Splendor during black-tie festivities Friday evening at PortMiami.

Brinkley pushed a button that sent a 15-liter bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne smashing against the ship’s hull.

Plus, Serena Melani and Seal

In other highlights, Serena Melani, the first woman captain to bring out a new cruise ship, received a standing ovation, and Seal, the Grammy Award-winning artist, performed a concert of hits including ‘Kissed by a Rose.’

Seven Seas Splendor is the sister of 2016's Seven Seas Explorer.

Magnificent and gorgeous

‘Every ship we launch gets even better, and Seven Seas Splendor is magnificent,’ said Frank Del Rio, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. ‘The collaboration between the designers, engineers, craftsmen, hotel and restaurant teams and the crew on board all brings the renowned Regent experience to life on this beautiful ship.’

‘Gorgeous’ is the word Brinkley used to describe Seven Seas Splendor.

‘All the details on this ship are amazing,’ she said, ‘from the artistic style of the Italian marble, the artwork and chandeliers, to the sculpture of the mythical dragon outside Pacific Rim. Every inch of this light and bright ship is filled with luxurious details.’

Brinkley added that her parents had cruised on Regent ships and ‘If they were here today, they would be so excited and proud for me to be godmother to Seven Seas Splendor.’
