Silversea reports growing confidence in summer 2021 and winter 2021/22

'We are happy to see these booking patterns that suggest travel advisors and their clients are taking advantage of the policies we have put in place,' Silversea's Mark Conroy said
Silversea said recent booking trends indicate travelers have growing confidence in summer 2021 and winter 2021/22 cruises.

Today's extension of the ‘Cruise with Confidence’ initiative for departures up to April 30, 2021, is intended to provide greater confidence for travel in early 2021.

Travel advisor commissions protected

When customers opt for the future cruise credit and have paid in full, their travel advisor's commission is protected for both the canceled booking and the future reservation where the future cruise credit is applied.

Since March 8, 48% of bookings have been made using a future cruise credit. As would be expected, Venetian Society brand loyalists are showing the greatest propensity to book.

'Closer to home' destinations popular

For 2021, ‘closer to home’ sailings are proving popular, with Americans showing healthy demand for a return to Alaska, and the Mediterranean and Northern Europe proving most popular with European and British guests. Australians, meanwhile, are keen to sail around Australia and New Zealand. Further afield destinations, including the Galápagos and Antarctica, are also expected to rebound strongly as travelers seek nature, wildlife and open spaces.

'We are happy to see these booking patterns that suggest travel advisors and their clients are taking advantage of the policies we have put in place, and are looking to the future of cruising with optimism,' said Mark Conroy, Silversea’s managing director for the Americas.

'Double Bonus' offer extended

Providing a further incentive that can be leveraged by travel advisors, Silversea's 'Double Bonus' offer has been extended. This features a reduced deposit requirement of $1,000 per suite for any new booking made before the new expiration date of Aug. 31, 2020.

Travelers who redeem this offer will also receive a $1,000 on-board credit per suite.

The 'Double Bonus' offer applies to all Silversea voyages with the exception of full world cruises and grand voyages. Travelers with a future cruise credit can also use their credit to take advantage of the offer.
