Restart pushed back to Oct. 5
Windstar pushed back the restart of operations in French Polynesia to Oct. 5 in order to respect the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's no-sail order through Sept. 30. The company wasn't required to do that since the CDC order applies only to sailings to or from the United States.
But a spokeswoman told Seatrade Cruise News Windstar took the decision since it is a Cruise Lines International Association member (before the CDC order, CLIA lines had voluntarily suspended sailings from US ports until Sept. 15) and because it sources most customers from the US.

French Polynesia began welcoming travelers from all destinations on July 15.
The 148-passenger Wind Spirit will operate seven-day round-trips from Papeete, Tahiti, and a variety of longer cruises that add the Tuamotu Islands.
