'One A&K' strategy has shared CSO, some Crystal reporting changes

A&K Travel Group's ‘One A&K’ strategy sees a new chief sales officer role and some reporting changes for Crystal executives.

Abercrombie & Kent veteran Marett Taylor was promoted to chief sales officer. Taylor joined A&K in 2000 and served in sales and marketing roles in East Africa, Southern Africa and Europe.

Since 2013, she has led the US sales team as VP sales, supporting travel agency partners and consortia in North America.  She will continue to be based in A&K’s Downers Grove office in Illinois, working across A&K and Crystal.

Crystal sales

Crystal's Brandon Townsley, VP sales &  trade partnerships, will report to Taylor. He leads a three-person team: Monique Ross, Paul Girouard and Melissa Nightingale. As earlier reported, the line is recruiting for an SVP trade sales.

Crystal hotel and marine operations

Starting Sept. 1, Crystal's Bernie Leypold, SVP hotel operations, and Roberto Fazi, SVP marine operations, will report to Fernando Delgado, chief product officer, A&K Travel Group.

Delgado, who is relocating to Monaco, already oversees the management and development of A&K's camps, lodges and riverboats, in addition to leading the A&K product line.

Down Under

In other moves Down Under, Debra Fox, formerly MD outbound tour operations, is now MD of A&K Australasia, as well as EVP trade sales Asia Pacific for A&K and Crystal.

Fox will be supported by Tony Archbold, who remains in his current role as VP sales for Crystal APAC.

Susan Haberle has been named VP sales & partnerships for A&K APAC.

Ann-Marie Chapman is now VP customer sales & operations APAC, with Michelle Mickan becoming VP marketing A&K and Crystal Australasia.

Helen Hutcheon did her cadetship on a shipping magazine and worked in P&O’s Sydney office for seven years as a public relations journalist.

For 19 years she was deputy editor of Travel Week, which was Australia’s leading trade newspaper that covered major local and international industry events.

In 2008 the late legendary Rama Rebbapragada presented her with an award from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd ‘in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the cruising industry.’

In 2010 she won the Neil Frazer Award for ‘outstanding contribution to the cruise industry,’ elevating her to CLIA Australasia’s hall of fame.

She has been the Australasia correspondent for Seatrade Cruise Review since 1997 and for Seatrade Insider (now Seatrade Cruise News) since its launch in 2000.
