Chen (Roger) Ranfeng, Adora's newly appointed CEO, will take full responsibility for Adora Cruises’ operational management and lead the company into the next phase of growth, building on its vision to establish a Chinese paradigm for the global cruise industry.

History at Adora

Ranfeng was Adora Cruises' CEO at the time of its founding. He made major contributions in building up the line from scratch, by recruiting all talent, designing the systems and overseeing the operations of Adora Magic City – the first Chinese-built large cruise ship – and Adora Mediterranea, known as the ‘Ship of Art.' From July 2024, Ranfeng served as senior advisor to the board of directors.

Expanding the fleet

Before joining Adora, Ranfeng was chairman of Carnival Corp. & plc in China since January 2016. In this capacity, he managed to boost the successful cooperation between Carnival Corp. and China State Shipbuilding Group, and played an integral role in growing the company’s business presence, strategic partnership and industrial expansion in the Chinese market.

‘I am honored to once again lead Adora Cruises into a new exciting chapter,’ Ranfeng said. ‘Adora Cruises is an ambitious cruise company with full-functioning operation capabilities.

‘Alongside our trusted and valued partners, our focus remains on delivering exceptional cruise vacation experiences tailored to the Chinese market.

‘We will continue to contribute to the growth of the Chinese cruise industry, expand our fleet, optimise deployment, and enrich our onboard offerings.’

China Cruises

China Cruises Limited, following its recent capital injection in Adora Cruises, will hold a 65% stake while CSSC Cruise Technology Development Co. Ltd. will hold 35% of Adora Cruises. This partnership aims to further strengthen Adora’s Cruises’ position in the market and contribute to the development of China’s cruise industry.

Established in December 2023, China Cruises is a shareholding company led by China Tourism Group.

Adora Cruises will continue to operate as an independent brand.

Adora Flora City

Adora currently operates two ships – Adora Magic City and Adora Mediterranea – serving nearly 500,000 domestic and international passengers.

Adora Flora City, the second Chinese-built large cruise ship, is currently undergoing final assembly and is expected to be delivered in late 2026, commencing international itineraries from China.
