Seasoned destinations/tours expert Adria Bono has joined Swan Hellenic as destination management director.

Based in Monaco, she will work closely with Director of Expedition Operations Pierre Thomas to ensure the expedition and excursion facets of Swan Hellenic’s cultural expedition cruises provide a complete and enriching experience.

Bono joins after nearly four years with Silversea Cruises where she ultimately served as senior director, destination experiences. Earlier positions were with Costa Cruises.

Strong tour operator relationships

'We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Adria to the team. With her tremendous focus on quality of guest experience and strong relationships with leading excursion partners worldwide, nobody could be better placed to ensure our guests enjoy unforgettably insightful explorations ashore, fully in tune Swan Hellenic’s pioneering heritage,'  Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito said.

Bono said she was attracted to Swan Hellenic having been a fan of the brand in the past because of its academic and cultural aspects. She's also excited about the opportunity to work in expeditions and for the chance to build a tours program from the ground up.

'Offering excursions that others don't'

'We're saying we go where others don't so we're going to be offering excursions that others don't,' Bono said.

Another differentiator for Swan Hellenic is including a one-night pre-cruise hotel stay and transfers from airport to hotel and hotel to ship, making a seamless experience. Bono's in charge of selecting the hotels as well as the tour operators, and said that whenever possible, Swan Hellenic will offer charter air to make it easier for travelers to access the remote destinations.
